BOSTON HERALD's Shameful Cover. TITANS Beat RAVENS In a Bona Fide Shocker. The Absolute MESS that is IRAN. Harry and Meghan do an about face on the Queen. And it's
a slow week for surf.

This is the MOST Shameful front cover to ever be printed on the dying BOSTON HERALD. It is without question a slap in the face to the man, and really the entire organization that has brought this region SIX SUPER BOWL Titles. The writer and the paper should hang their heads in shame. Disgusting.

I understand you are trying to sell newspapers in an industry that is drying up week after week, but to stoop this low? I'm sorry, but you guys crossed a line. You can't take this one back. One can only hope that the lunkheads who subscribe to this piece of shit rag don't have young Patriots fans at home. Can you imagine some kid wearing a number 12 jersey seeing "Daddy's paper" with this shit on the cover? Good luck explaining that to junior.

So here's what I'm going to do. The Next Boston Herald that I buy will be the one announcing the CLOSING of their plant. I would suggest any of you readers who get this poor excuse for a newspaper to do the same. Write to the editor. Write to the owner. Write to the reporter who wrote this garbage.

You all know what's going to happen now right?

I think Tom Brady comes back to the Patriots next year and the Krafts and Coach Belichick beef up that O-line, get some great receivers, and a couple of thundering running backs, and fine tunes the defense so that TB 12 not only returns, but goes on to win SUPER BOWL Title number 7. And if the Boston Herald is still in business that cover should read PLEASE FORGIVE US TOM. WE'RE SO SORRY WE DOUBTED YOU. WE'RE ASSHOLES.

And as bad as Patriots Nation felt last week losing to the TITANS in the Wild card weekend, it can't even begin to feel as bad as the RAVENS feel this morning. Lamar Jackson (pictured below) was the hands down league MVF this year. With a best ever record for the team 14-2 and being the number one seed in the NFL playing the number six seed TITANS.

Jackson was the New QB in the NFL. His wizardry on the field in both passing and rushing was second to none. I mean, nobody was/is doing what he does.

So just what the hell happened?

Well, all the experts are still trying to figure that out. But it was basically because of one locomotive running back by the name of Derrick Henry or as I was calling him last week OH HENRY! The man rushed for 186 yards against the Patriots last week and he rushed for 195 yards against the Ravens last night. He's a beast on the field who can run like a deer.

This is a sight that looks all to familiar with Patriots fans. And now it will be a nightmarish memory for the would be Kings The Baltimore Ravens. And it will be a longtime before they forget this night. A very long time.

OH HENRY is the real deal.

I think the Titan's QB only threw for something ridiculous like 88 yards. The Titans were 10 point underdogs. And I'm sure the entire NFL is in shock this morning. Nobody and I mean nobody saw this coming. Except the Titans.
And not for nothing but, you would have thought that the Ravens coach John Harbaugh would have studied the Titans Patriots game last week. Because if he had he would have known what was coming. OH HENRY!

TITANS coach ex-Patriot Mike Vrabel is in the drivers seat.

And if I were Andy Reid (Kansas City coach) I'd be paying attention. CLOSE attention to OH HENRY. Because if the Chiefs beat the Texans today, the Titans are coming to your house next weekend. And vice versa. If the Texans win the Titans are coming to your house. Just like they came to the Patriots house and the Ravens house. And they are NOT afraid. But you should be.

I guess I'm rooting for the Titans now. GO TITANS!

OK so last week on the Big Global stage I blogged about the killing of
IRAN'S Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani last week ordered by our 45th president. The world held it's collective breath as we all waited for Iran's promised response. Well, it came in the form of Short range Ballistic Missiles. They fired on two US bases in IRAQ. I believe they launched a total of 22 missiles. They all fell harmlessly to the ground. Nobody was killed. Nobody was wounded.

There was very little damage. It was almost like IRAN was giving 45 a gift.

They promised their people there would be a harsh response. They promised that they would avenge Suleimani's death. Uh well, I guess blowing up a few million dollars worth of missiles is kind of a harsh response, but harsh on who?

And a few hours after the "Missile Attack" a Boeing 737 carrying 176 people took off from Teheran's International Airport and crashed after two minutes in the air. Of course everyone thought the worse. That somehow the IRANIAN'S shot that civilian airliner down. Some moron with is finger on the button of some Rocket Launcher may have thought that they were being attacked by Americans flying a Boeing 737. "Aiieee! The Great Satans are attacking us!
Quickly shoot them down! Quickly shoot the plane! Allah Ark-bar! "

You freaking idiots! You Stupid sons of bitches! Of course IRAN denied all of those reports. No surprise there.

In fact, IRAN boasted to it's people that dozens of Americans were killed in the Missile attacks with hundreds more wounded. Of course none of that was true. Can you imagine living under those kinds of circumstances?

The next day 45 stepped out from his tanning booth and spoke to the world.
(Seriously if you saw the way he made his entrance it looked like he was stepping out of this brightly lit tanning booth. It was very dramatic.)

Now it's no secret how I feel about 45. But...I have to say, on this day, he read every word from his teleprompter without ad-libbing. And in my eyes actually sounded presidential. He had a few hiccups with some mispronunciations, but for the most part, he got through it. I don't think I was alone when I said I held my breath. But IRAN had already claimed that they were done attacking, and basically pleaded with 45 NOT to retaliate. And much to the world's surprise, he accepted the IRAN request. Whew! 45 and the US came away smelling like Roses.

I mean Who'd a thunk it?

45 leveled a few more sanctions and other threats, but for the most part it was over. He ordered the killing of Qassim Suleimani (Good riddance) and lost nothing in return. The Iranians on the other hand lost 56 people trampled to death during Suleimani's funeral, and then FINALLY admitted to shooting down the UKRAINE Airliner where 176 lives were lost.

I'm sorry, but IRAN is a state run by idiots. I know there are hundreds of thousands of good people living there, and I do feel for them. I wish they could leave or have a better life in Iran. But the leaders of that country are complete idiots. And until there is a Regime change (for the better) nothing will change.
The people live in constant fear from the Supreme leaders and his henchmen.

Those poor souls. May they rest in peace. So now what?

There were 65 Canadians on board, a handful of Brits and Germans too. And the worse of all, there were 15 children. Those poor kids. Someone has to pay for this horrible event. The blame is far reaching. They should have NEVER let any airline fly that night. They should have all been grounded. I mean that's common sense. Those poor people died because of some incompetent fools. ALL FLIGHTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN GROUNDED!
I swear, this kind of stuff is so upsetting.

I did an interview on a radio station this week. The interviewer asked me if I ever get any negative feedback because of some the comments I make. I told her the truth. Yes I do. They are few and far between the positive comments. But I get a few. I know that I've upset a few of my GOP friends as well as my Liberal friends. I used to be both a Democrat and a Republican. It's true.

Today, I am neither. So I made this meme to clarify things for you.

The Bottom Line is I seek the truth. I see wrong and always try to right it.
I don't care about Party lines. I care about what's best and most truthful.
So that's how I will Vote when the elections come up. The Truth.

This just came in. Neil Peart, drummer for the iconic three piece rock band RUSH has passed away from brain cancer, He was 67 years old. Neil Peart was considered a drummer's drummer. He was clearly one of the TOP Five Drummers of all time. I was fortunate enough to see them live in concert about 10 years ago when Dave Cropper invited me to see them. Although I wasn't a huge Rush fan I was clearly impressed with this show and their songs over the years. They were monsters all three of them. Rest In Peace Neil.

Now for Some Local, National and International News
I'm sure by now you've heard the news about Harry and Meghan deciding to step back away from the Royalty business. The Queen is upset over the decision. I mean this is big news over in London (But for me? I could care less). This image below WAS the Madame Tussards wax figures.

But since the split this is the new look. See below.

They took Harry and Meghan out of the display! Now that's not right! Who made that call? Damn you Royalty Snobs!

ESM (Eastern Surf Magazine) using a READY MAG format did the Best of Ralph's Pic. And while they couldn't possibly use everything thing I've ever done, they did manage to put up some 50 pics of mine, plus two videos. And I was truly humbled by their intro. TULSI and The Goofyfoots 1-1-20 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

On January 1st, 2020 Presidential Candidate TULSI Gabbard came to Hampton, NH to meet up with Dave Cropper owner of CINNAMON RAINBOWS and Lenny Nichols of the ESA-NNE to go Winter Surfing at the Wall at North Beach, NH. No other Candidate in the history of our country has ever gone surfing here before, let alone in the winter. This is a first. TULSI is the real deal. A War Veteran and a REAL Surfer. Anyone who has served our country in a war zone and who was willing to to paddle out into winter conditions here in New Hampshire has my respect and my vote.
TULSI has a "Soldier's Heart." She's the REAL DEAL.

NEW YEARS EVE 12-31-2019 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

The LAST Swell of 2019. There was size in the morning. But no sun to be found anywhere. I caught up with a handful of riders just to document the swell. The surfers that I know in this edit are: Jake Davidson, Perry Reynolds, Ian Dreher, Ryan Jackson, Mike Stanek, Alex Orestis, Artie Seaman, Skip Brunette, Johnny Reynolds and a few I couldn't ID. Music is by KOL.

DECEMBER ONE FIVE and ONE EIGHT TWENTYNINETEEN from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

This is two days in December. The 15th and the 18th. The 15th was as windy as I've ever seen it. And the 18th was just a nice day to be at the beach. I used BP again to move the visuals along. The surfers are: Kainalu Nichols, Max Fatello, Steve O'Hara, Jack Madden, Jon Kiskinis, Sarah Lang, and a few others I couldn't ID. Happy Holidays! *Watch in 1080 or better I shot this in 4K.

DECEMBER TO REMEMBER from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

From December 1st to December 3rd, 2019 we had a NON-STOP snow and wind event. We got hammered with over a foot of snow and it was the wet and heavy stuff. Like shoveling cement. That was down side, the good side was we got a really powerful overhead swell that had all the points and reefs firing on all cylinders. It was almost epic. I hate to use that phrase unless it's really EPIC quality. The boys were out in force and they all made the best of it. I chose my old friend and guitar God Robin Trower to provide the soundtrack. I shot this in 4K so adjust your video player accordingly. Hope you enjoy this DECEMBER TO REMEMBER! Happy Holidays Everyone!

BLACK FRIDAY from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

November 29th, 2019. "Black Friday" was a day for the locals to score some insane deals on getting some empty barrels. And the boys did just that. From the young Kainalu Nichols to the seasoned vet Kevin Grondin. The local boys had their day of great bargains. Nobody lost on this day. It was a BLACK FRIDAY to remember. And I know, I won't soon forget it.

HALLOWEEN SWELL 2019 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

I was trying to compare the HALLOWEEN SWELL of 1991 with this one the HALLOWEEN SWELL of 2019. But truth be told, there's no real comparison, other than they both fell on or around Halloween. Both days were windy. And both days had overhead surf. But the waves were bigger in '91 than '19. And the surf lasted an entire week in 1991 and only the one day in 2019. Still, it was a neat concept, the two Halloween storms. I will say that the thing that really got me was, there was only ONE PERSON out at 8:00 AM! ONE PERSON! Are you kidding me? It was weird seeing NO VEHICLES parked along the wall that morning. More people eventually went out, but for a while there, it looked like a Ghost Town. Any way, there's some cool looking waves here. Enjoy my 270th Video! *Watch in 1080

NESTOR 10-17-19 from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

So I missed the Big day (10-16-19). But, I caught the "Golden" tail end of NESTOR the very next morning October 17th, 2019. And it was truly a Golden Session. The surfers that I rememberer: Kody Grondin, Lars Hamilton, Kainalu Nichols, Max Fatello, Crowley Gentile, Kevin Grondin, and a handful of others. The music is the cool mix tape of JH by Beautiful People. I love that CD. I also did something I rarely do and that is, I used a bunch of stills to create a sequence. I've done it before in the past and it seems to work well with this edit.

This October and really since September has been amazing. I've almost lost count of how many Tropical Storms, Hurricanes, and Nor'easters we've had. Suffice it to say, it's been significant.
Let's hope November is much like it's little brother October.
Hope you like this edit.

MELISSA from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

What happens when a Tropical storm mates with a Nor'easter? Well, five days of waves is one thing. I shot on Day one and again on Day four. Yeah, I missed the big days. But I got the cleanest of the five. On Saturday October 12th, 2019 a good friend Markey J took off on a Bomb and got clobbered by his own board. The pics are at the end of this edit. But be forewarned, they are graphic. I posted the pics because I think it's important to remember to protect your head when you lose it out there. Too many head injuries the last 10 years or so. This one was one of the worse. Another inch or two to the left and we would be planning a paddle for Markey. Stay frosty out there. If anyone knows who the long haired Goofy foot from NY or NJ is please let him know.

Little LORENZO and his Ladder from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

On October 1st, 2019 I did something that I've never done before. I carried a 10' step ladder out onto the slippery rocks and kelp to shoot the waves from Hurricane Lorenzo. The waves were just OK. They never really materialized the way they were predicting. But, the ladder? It was a major breakthrough as far as surf photography goes. Yeah it was awkward to carry, especially seeing how I had a back pack with two of my cameras. I took a lot of grief over this. Mostly from my family. They all thought I'd fall and break my neck.

I told them "They laughed at the Wright Brothers..." Ha ha.

Any way, my dear friend John Carden provided the cool soundtrack. I was looking for some Italian opera when out of the blue he sent me this track. It's pretty cool. *There was one negative aspect to this edit though. Some old guy on a Boogie Board was hassling everyone out there. He kept getting in the way and was just being a jerk. He caused one of the riders to lose a fin. And it was the only dark spot of what should have been a fun session. Oh well. Hope you enjoy Lorenzo.

HUMBERTO from Ralph's Pic Of The Week on Vimeo.

Tropical Storm Humberto produced two days of overhead surf to Northern New England. Friday September 20th, and Saturday September 21st, 2019.
I shot from the land and in the water. There are too many surfers to name. However, the music is by The CARS, VINNY, and MIGUEL TITO RODRIGEUZ. I dedicated to the edit to the late Ric Ocasek.
May He Rest In Peace.

(Above) That's Tim Cahill from 2010. I was looking for a funny Parting shot when I saw this. I think I ran this before but it's worth a second shot.
